55-year-old former model battles breast cancer with diet changes; refuses chemo and surgery

The story of former model Jessica Richards' battle with cancer is a remarkable one, especially because it has defected from the use of conventional treatments like chemotherapy, radiation, or surgery. In her book The Topic of Cancer, Richards explains how following a strict metabolic diet and receiving high-dose intravenous injections of vitamin C has helped successfully reverse the progression of her breast cancer, to the shock of many conventional doctors.

It is a story you will likely never hear from the mainstream media, at least not from the perspective of being taken seriously, and yet it is one that people desperately need to hear. Rather than follow in the footsteps of the millions of others who have lost their lives as a result of all the cutting, burning, and poisoning, Richards made the personal, informed decision to naturally fight breast cancer by feeding her body a plethora of cancer-fighting nutrients, and cutting out a host of cancer-causing foods and substances.

After learning that she had an unusually large tumor in one of her breasts, Richards was told by her doctors that she would need to begin an aggressive treatment protocol that involved removing the breast, having it reconstructed, and undergoing an intense series of radiation and hormone treatments to keep it at bay. Knowing a bit about the toll this would take on her body, Richards decided to take a different route.

"The cancer consultant who'd done my ultrasound scans said my tumor was so large I'd need accelerated chemotherapy for several months," writes Richards about her initial diagnosis. "He said I would almost certainly need a mastectomy or at least a large lumpectomy with significant reconstruction, my lymph nodes removed, radiotherapy and five years of hormone-altering drugs after that."

After researching alternative options, Richards decided to eliminate all dairy and sugar from her diet, including most fruits, and instead eat lots of vegetables and take high doses of vitamin C intravenously. After just three weeks of starting this regimen, which many said she was crazy to undertake at the expense of conventional treatments, scans showed that Richards' tumor had essentially "gone to sleep," and was in the process of regressing. Almost immediately after beginning the protocol, in fact, Richards began to see drastic improvements.

"I switched from a generally healthy diet to a metabolic one, focusing on alkaline over acid foods and cutting out all sugars," adds Richards. "I also cut out all grains and most fruit, which are broken down into sugars. Instead, I concentrated on leafy green vegetables, short grain rice, quinoa and linseeds, and cut out all dairy, which is pumped with artificial hormones. I also had regular high-dose infusions of vitamin C, a natural form of chemotherapy."

With the help of alternative cancer specialists, Richards has all but completely cured her cancer

After several months of adhering to her strict diet, which she admits has not always been easy, Richards was told by her consultant radiologist that her tumor was effectively breaking down in the same way as it would with intensive chemotherapy, except without all the organ damage and other deadly side effects. A little over a year after first being diagnosed with cancer, Richards was able to stop her intravenous vitamin C injections -- and not long after that was told that she was completely healthy, and would not have to return for a checkup for another year.

Today, Richards is healthier than ever, and has never once had to be blasted with radiation, poisoned with chemicals, or had a knife cut her skin.

9 Weird Health Habits You Need to Adopt

Move past the annual checkups and daily sweat sessions. These habits are way more fun.

Eat soup out of a box.

Want to develop a single habit that will lower your risk of heart disease, brain cancer, high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, and infertility? Give up canned goods forever. A slew of studies over the past decade have implicated bisphenol A (BPA), the chemical used to make the linings of canned goods as well as hard plastics and thermal receipt paper, in all these diseases, yet the Food and Drug Administration and many canned food companies refuse to ban it from their food lines. Some companies are seeking out replacements, but they aren't disclosing what they're using, and those alternatives could be just as bad (or worse) than BPA. Opt for soups and other products in boxes, which are BPA free, or in glass jars, if that's your only alternative.

Take up hiking.

Scientists in Japan have started prescribing "forest therapy" as a way for people to relax and boost their immune health, after a study found that men who'd spent six hours hiking in a forest over the course of two days had higher levels of "natural killer cells," which strengthen immunity and help fight cancer. The healthy effects of those two hikes lasted for 30 days. If a few days of arboreal wandering don't fit your schedule, seek out whatever nature you can find, such as a park—or even your own backyard. Being in nature is a natural stress reliever, and relaxation is great for your immune system.

Hit up happy hour with your BFF.

SSomething as simple as meeting a friend once a week for a drink or for lunch could add years to your life, based on a study from the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health. According to the authors, good friends can keep you from dying earlier, possibly because they're good influences for healthy behaviors, for instance, helping you to stop smoking and encouraging you to exercise. Friends also can help counteract depression, cope with the loss of a spouse, and keep us from becoming isolated as we age.

Punch something.

Preferably a punching bag or couch cushion, not your boss. Caging up your rage can lead to poorer quality sleep, according to research published in the journal Psychosomatic Medicine. And not getting enough sleep, numerous studies have shown, can boost your blood pressure, heighten your risk of depression, and undermine your performance at work.

Clean every day.

When it comes to fun, cleaning probably ranks up there with root canals and doing your taxes. But resist the urge to let your bed go unmade—it could extend your life. Scottish researchers have noticed that people who engage in moderate housework every day live longer than sedentary types, possibly because all the extra calorie-burn is good for your heart. Not only that, but cleaning makes you nicer. A study in Psychological Science found that people in clean-smelling rooms were more likely to donate money and volunteer to charitable causes than people in a room that hadn't been cleaned recently.

Walk around barefoot (at home).

Now that your home is nice and clean, take off your shoes and leave them by the front door. The soles of those innocuous shoes actually harbor residues of toxic heavy metals, chemicals, and pesticides that can cause brain damage, infertility, and even obesity. Lead in soil remains our major source of exposure to this brain-damaging metal that's been tied to dementia and Alzheimer's disease, and pesticides from your neighbors' lawns, such as Roundup and 2,4-D, have been linked to nerve damage and childhood leukemia. To top it all off, chemicals found in driveway sealants were recently found to trigger childhood obesity in a study by researchers from Columbia Center for Children's Environmental Health. Slippers are more comfortable inside, anyway!

Take more naps.

Even at work, seriously! A few years ago, the Pew Research Center polled working professionals and found that just 34 percent of people took naps every day. However, a third of those people made over $100,000 per year. A connection? We think not. Studies have also found that naps improve cognitive function, memory, and alertness, and one study in Greece found that people who took three 30-minute naps a week cut their risk of a fatal heart attack by 37 percent—largely due to the fact that naps cut down on heart-damaging stress.

Have more sex.

A roll in the hay makes you feel good, yes, but it also does wonders for your ability to ward off colds, flu, and other unpleasant illnesses. Researchers at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, PA, found that having sex once or twice a week boosts your body's production of immune system antibodies by 30 percent, compared to those who didn't have sex. The proteins in question, immunoglobulin A, bind to disease-causing pathogens when they first enter the body, summoning the immune system to destroy them.

Use a vibrator.

o you're single and have to go solo? That's healthy, too, according to research from Indiana University's Center for Sexual Health Promotion, because it apparently makes you more apt to adopt other healthy habits. A survey conducted by the center revealed that both single women and women who incorporated vibrator use into sex with a partner were more likely to visit the gynecologist than non-users. Men who reported using vibrators with a partner were also more likely to give themselves testicular self-exams. Need any more excuses to start using sex toys?

So there you have it, a couple of new way's to be healthy and have fun in life.....

7 wonderful ways to cleanse you liver the natural way!

Our livers work extremely hard everyday to protect us from adverse affects from toxins and often it is easy for our livers to become overworked compromising our health significantly. Here are 7 common foods you can include daily to help cleanse your liver naturally.

The primary way in which your body expels toxins is via the liver, which detoxifies and cleanses your body by continuously filtering the blood of poisons that enter it through the digestive tract, the skin, and the respiratory system. But when your liver becomes overworked as a result of stress or excessive exposure to toxins, your entire system can be thrown off balance, and your health severely compromised.

Since the liver is also responsible for producing bile, another form of detoxification that is metabolically necessary for the breakdown and assimilation of fats and proteins from your food, it is exceedingly important that your liver be properly maintained. Without a well-functioning liver, your body will be unable to cleanse itself and absorb nutrients, which is a recipe for a health disaster.

"The thousands of enzyme systems that are responsible for virtually every body activity are constructed in the liver," writes Dr. Karl Maret, M.D., about the importance of vibrant liver function. "The proper functioning of the eyes, the heart, the brain, the gonads, the joints, and the kidneys, are all dependent on good liver activity."

"If the liver is impaired from constructing even one of the thousands of enzyme systems the body requires, there is an impairment in overall body function and a resultant greater metabolic stress on the individual."

So here are seven important foods you may want to begin incorporating into your diet in order to maintain a healthy liver.

1. Garlic

Garlic contains numerous sulfur-containing compounds that activate the liver enzymes responsible for flushing out toxins from the body. This bulbous relative of the onion also contains allicin and selenium, two powerful nutrients proven to help protect the liver from toxic damage, and aid it in the detoxification process.

2. Grapefruit

Grapefruit is rich in natural vitamin C and antioxidants, two powerful liver cleansers. Like garlic, grapefruit contains compounds that boost the production of liver detoxification enzymes. It also contains a flavonoid compound known as naringenin that causes the liver to burn fat rather than store it.

3. Green Tea

Green tea is loaded with catechins, a type of plant antioxidant that has been shown in studies to eliminate liver fat accumulation and promote proper liver function. This powerful herbal beverage also protects the liver against toxins that would otherwise accumulate and cause serious damage.

4. Green Vegetables

Leafy green vegetables such as bitter gourd, arugula, dandelion greens, spinach, mustard greens, and chicory also contain numerous cleansing compounds that neutralize heavy metals, which can bear heavily on the liver. Leafy greens also eliminate pesticides and herbicides from the body, and spur the creation and flow of cleansing bile.

5. Avocado

Rich in glutathione-producing compounds, avocados actively promote liver health by protecting it against toxic overload, and boosting its cleansing power. Some research has shown that eating one or two avocados a week for as little as 30 days can repair a damaged liver.

6. Walnuts

Walnuts, which contain high levels of l-arginine, an amino acid, glutathione, and omega-3 fatty acids, also help detoxify the liver of disease-causing ammonia. Walnuts also help oxygenate the blood, and extracts from their hulls are often used in liver-cleansing formulas.

7. Tumeric

Turmeric, one of the most powerful foods for maintaining a healthy liver, has been shown to actively protect the liver against toxic damage, and even regenerate damaged liver cells. Turmeric also boosts the natural production of bile, shrinks engorged hepatic ducts, and improves overall function of the gallbladder, another body-purifying organ.
enjoy!

since I didn't know what a Turmeric was I added this picture. It is also known as Curcuma longa. turmeric is a tropical rhizome(underground stems) in the ginger family.

5 Reasons to Get Swimsuit Ready With Cleanse Days

It’s that time of year where many people are sprucing up their home or wardrobe, but it’s also the perfect time to spruce up your health and body by cleansing with Isagenix. More than just a way to get your body toned for swimsuit season, cleansing with Isagenix offers a surefire way to recharge, gain energy, and improve your overall health.

Depending on the type of Isagenix system you’re embarking on, Cleanse Days will involve one or two days a week, or every other week, where you’ll abstain from food and in its place will be the drink Cleanse for Life, plenty of purified water, and other little nutrient-packed “tools” to get you through.

Ask anyone who’s lost weight on Isagenix and they will surely tell you that these Cleanse Days are what gave them the “jump start” to results and benefits that are seen from the overall system. It’s not just other people too—as with anything else made by Isagenix—Cleanse Days encompass the benefits seen in well-designed, published studies. Here are five reasons why Cleanse Days will bring you results:
  1. “Jump Starts” Fat Burning: The reduction of calories on Cleanse Days stimulates the body’s fat burning furnaces by increasing human growth hormone while suppressing proteins responsible for fat synthesis and storage. Notably, the surge in human growth hormone also helps protect against muscle breakdown as long as followed with intake of quality protein (as on Shake Days).
  2. Triggers Detoxification: The abstinence of food on Cleanse Days gives the digestion processes a break, allowing the liver to kick into detox high gear. Also, with the reduction of fat deposits on Cleanse Days comes the release of stored fat-soluble toxins. By drinking Cleanse for Life on Cleanse Days, this helps encourage even deeper detoxification. Cleanse for Life provides several significant advantages over traditional fasting: The drink contains B vitamins, which are depleted during normal fasting. These vitamins are essential for normal body metabolism and energy production. It also contains bioactive herbal ingredients demonstrated to stimulate antioxidative and detoxification enzyme pathways including glutathione transferases, catalase, and superoxide dismutase. And, finally, Cleanse for Life contains potent antioxidative complexes that directly contribute to the body’s antioxidant defense system.
  3. Improves Insulin Sensitivity: A review of animal and human studies involving intermittent or alternate-day fasting, or abstaining from food for one or two days in between normal calorie consumption days, found that fasting resets cellular sensitivity to glucose and insulin (1). This in itself can bring better health—allowing the body to better control blood sugar. The opposite of being insulin sensitive is insulin resistant, which is related to metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. Recently, research has shown that periodic intermittent fasting was associated with reduced risk in type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases (2).
  4. Reduces oxidative stress and inflammation: As fat cells shrink, they release fewer pro-inflammatory cytokines (signaling molecules) that cause oxidative stress and inflammation. Less total body fat also helps improve antioxidant status in the body. The end result is improved health overall and lower risk of chronic disease. Oxidative stress, in particular, plays a heavy toll on telomeres (related to aging). The lower the oxidative stress, the better for healthy aging.
  5. Activates Your “Longevity Genes”: Studies in animals suggest that intermittent fasting on Cleanse Days can activate genetic expression of SIRT1, dubbed the “longevity gene” (3). The scientific interest in sirtuins, the family of proteins that SIRT1 is a part of, has grown since the early 2000s because of findings that stimulation of them—via calorie restriction, intermittent fasting, and compounds such as resveratrol—may slow aging and increase lifespan.
So what the about other parts of the Cleansing and Fat Burning System that are so great? For one, Shake Days on an Isagenix system can also be considered “calorie restricted” days. Two meals replaced with an IsaLean Shake and one 400- to 600-calorie well-balanced meal will most likely equate to consuming fewer calories than normal. If followed consistently, this in itself can lead to weight loss. On top of weight loss, calorie restriction has shown in both animal and human studies to elongate life and protect against chronic disease (1).
What’s more, the biggest component of an Isagenix system is IsaLean Shake, a nutrient-dense meal that feeds the body whey protein, which has consistently shown in studies to be the top choice (compared to other sources of protein like soy) for:
  • Reducing muscle loss, which is usually associated with most weight-loss plans (4;6)
  • Reducing total body fat and visceral fat by increasing fat burning (oxidation) (5;6)
  • Increasing thermogenesis, which increases the amount of calories burned (5)
On top of this, Isagenix systems promote the regular use of Ionix Supreme, an adaptogen-rich tonic that helps reduce the stress associated with weight loss and helps with the “feel good” effects of the program.
The beauty of a Cleansing and Fat Burning System from Isagenix lies in the combination of its individual parts. Not a system that involves restricting yourself to drinking plain juices, or worse yet, taking laxatives, Isagenix offers a lifestyle plan that supports weight and fat loss, will get you into swimsuit-shape, and supports muscle maintenance, supreme nutrition, and maximum detoxification.

Network Marketing, scary? hmmmmm lets see

Network Marketing, Multi-level Marketing, or direct selling. Everyone has heard of these terms. but what exactly are they and how do they differ from traditional corporate businesses? When most people hear of Network Marketing, they normally don't like it. don't want to have anything to do with it and start talking pyramid schemes..... Why do we react this way?

Lets look at the organizational structure of corporate America and then compare it to the organizational structure of a network marketing company (like Isagenix).

In corporate America, we under stand that there is a hierachical structure in place where the CEO is the top income earner and top decision-maker of the company.Underneath the CEO, you have Senior Vice Presidents, then vice Presidents, then Manager and so on until you reach the most entry level employee position within the organization. When we first enter the corporate structure, we come on board as an entry-level employee, typically work in a window-less cubicle, and are told to work hard to get noticed in hopes of getting a promotion to the next level.  We devote many long hours and years of our lives with the anticipation of being promoted to a corner office with increased pay.  Still, we work long hours and the process repeats as we strive to achieve another promotion, a bigger title and more pay.  Ultimately, we seek to become the CEO of the organization after we've devoted years to work our way up the corporate ladder.

When you look at a corporate structure, it creates a pyramid-like shape, identically the same as the network marketing structure.  Withing this structure, the CEO is able to gain freedom of time and money by leveraging the efforts of the managers and his many employees.  The employees, on the other hand have no leverage in this model and are trading their time for money ( also known as renting their income).  Equally importance is that the employees typically have very little to no ownership of business itself and do not share the same mentality as the owner(s) to go "above and beyond" in their job duties.

Many people are drawn to the corporate model because of their core values and how they were raised.  A person with an "employee" mentality like the security of having a regular paycheck and company provided benefits versus having to go out and earn a living based upon their own efforts.  In a nutshell, and employee accepts being told what they're worth, how much time they'll get off from work and is always at risk of being let go.

NOW, let's look at the structure of a network marketing company to see how it compares to that of corporate America.  Network marketing companies use people as independent business owners( or reps) to market their goods and services.  The goods and services offered by network marketing companies are not necessarily cheaper of more expensive then traditional business models, they are just marketed via the company's independent business owner to eliminate the expensive marketing costs.  In lieu of paying these expensive marketing costs, the network marketing company pays sales commissions or a percentage of the profits  back to the independent business owners for generating the sales.  If the products or services are consumed or ordered on a regular or on-going basis, the independent business owner has created a revenue stream for him or herself..:o)...

If a network marketing company is to be successful in selling lots of its goods or services, it will obviously need a large amount of independent business owners out promoting them.  This is where we come into the concept of a "down line" or levels below you.  You first pull from people you know, family, friends, co-workers, but as you become more successful this recruiting aspect is the genius part of network marketing that allows you as an independent business owner to duplicate themselves, similar to how a franchised business model is duplicated over and over.  By leveraging the efforts of other within your "down line", you are able to create an organization that is able to continue generating additional sales and expand itself without your direct efforts.  Once your organization is able to grow on its own, you will have essentially created a residual income stream for yourself(that you won) and you are no-longer trading TIME for MONEY. This is your goal, to make money while you are out doing the things you love to do, whether is be, gardening, hanging out with your family, hiking, exploring America etc....

Few people are drawn to network marketing because it does takes not being afraid to talk to people or failure every now and again, but in return you will achieve freedom of time and money. and in the end will have security of life because you are the CEO of your own company.

If you would like to talk to me and have questions how to get started with Isagenix and would like to  become an Isagenix Associate please go to my website www.dianakautzman.isagenix.com I only need 1/2 hour to explain how the system works and you'll be on your way to financial freedom.

the importance of cleansing

Ok let me get right to the point!

Everyone know at least one person or has a friend/family member that has acne.
We also see all the commercials on how to treat acne with pro-active and such facial creams, medication. What allot of people don't seem to realize is toxic build up in the body can lead to many health issues  including unsightly acne. To permanently cure acne, you need to understand the root cause of the skin condition. Acne, often times, can be an indication of harmful toxin build up in our body's. Every day we are exposed to hundreds of toxins- from the food we eat, to the air we breathe, the water we drink, the items we touch, and our body is struggling to maintain good health.  And since the skin is the largest organ we have, the toxins are released through the skin, which ultimately can result in acne for many people.  Based on research findings, toxin build up can lead to other serious health issues as well. some of the health issues linked to toxin build up includes inflammatory skin problems, accelerated aging, digestive problems, hormonal imbalances and significant weight gain overtime.
And effective way to get rid of those toxins is to cleanse your body. Many detox programs currently available target the colon only. Isagenix is unique in that it targets all the organs including the liver, kidney's, entire digestive track, and even the lypmpatic system and blood. Isagenix is gentle, safe and effective!

Isagenix Nutritional program works by removing your body's toxin buildups.  Eating processed food with additives, preservatives and other things that are not natural are one of the major causes of toxin build-ups. 1. curing and elimination of acne and other skin problems
2. a noticeable improvement of skin tone and elasticity

Well the weekend is over, I had both Saturday and Sunday off, which for anyone who is in the retail industry knows is almost impossible to get.  My ex-sister in law and her husband were here... and yes I said EX. Just because you divorce one person doesn't mean you don't ever have to talk to the rest of the family again.

Anyway we had a blast. They won a trip through they company they worked for and were staying at Planet Hollywood casino. They  had been to Vegas allot of times but had never ever been off the strip, I tell you Vegas tourists miss the best part of Nevada when they stay on the strip.

Took them to Red rock for a day of hiking on Saturday. They had a blast, posted all the pics on face book. While they were doing that and I was playing tour guide I realized that I really need to do this more often. I live here, about 10 minutes away and don't really bother to go to red rock park unless family is in town.

It is sooo beautiful up there and what good exercise, hiking,  climbing, bouldering, it works on all the parts of your body. And it is so much better of a workout then in the gym, because it doesn't feel like a workout. But boy was I sore the next day. :o).    We had great plans for the afternoon and evening after 4 hours at the park. We ended up taking a nap till 530pm and then went to dinner at 7.  No walking the strip and staying out all night we just wanted to get back to bed lol.

On Sunday (after sleeping in) we went to Lake Mead, another Las Vegas treasure no tourist is really aware of.

Now they have made the trip to Hoover dam before but it was sooo much better seeing the dam from the water (by the way it was 96 degree's yesterday). Me and my boyfriend do this every week in the summer, forgetting how special and what an unique experience it can be to go jet skiing and cruise around the lake, may it be in a boat, kayaking, or on a Seadoo. I had so much fun this weekend showing them the "other side" of Vegas and that we locals know where the best parts of this town are and yes there is life off the strip lol!  My family is from Montana, and it was barely 60 degrees over there makes me happy to live here and appreciate the weather.  It also made be re-discover the fun I have in going hiking at Red rock, which I plan to continue since I live so close.  And nothing is better then conditioning your body while your forgetting that you are actually working out.

How much sugar do you drink a day???

Everyone knows that soda is packed with sugar. We stacked up the sugar in some average sized bottles, plus 7-Eleven's super-sized line of Gulp beverages.

Coca Cola
 12 oz (355 ml) Can
 Sugars, total: 39g
 Calories, total: 140
 Calories from sugar: 140*
 20 oz (590 ml) Bottle
 Sugars, total: 65g
 Calories, total: 240
 Calories from sugar: 240
 1 Liter (34 oz) Bottle
 Sugars, total: 108g
 Calories, total: 400
 Calories from sugar: 400
* You'll notice that if you do the math on
many of these, the total caloric value
is lower than the calories that should be
in the sugar alone, if sugar has 4 calories
per gram. We don't know if they used
"low calorie" sugar; we just used the data
on the nutrition label, and assumed that
sugar accounted for 100% of the calories.
This was common for beverages but not
other products.
Most people add at least some ice to their fountain drinks. We figured in enough ice to account for 15% of the cup's volume. Restaurants probably put in a lot more.

The sugar just keeps stacking up.
Coca Cola
 7-Eleven 32 oz Big Gulp
 (28 oz soda + 4 oz ice)
 Sugars, total: 91g
 Calories, total: 364
 Calories from sugar: 364
 7-Eleven 44 oz Super Gulp
 (38 oz soda + 6 oz ice)
 Sugars, total: 128g
 Calories, total: 512
 Calories from sugar: 512

This is a huge insulated mug. It holds a little less than the Double Gulp, and is about the size of a gallon jug.
 Coca Cola
 7-Eleven 52 oz Xtreme Gulp
 (45 oz soda + 7 oz ice)
 Sugars, total: 146g
 Calories, total: 585
 Calories from sugar: 585

That's about a cup of sugar! It's hard to believe anyone could drink that much soda.
 Coca Cola
 7-Eleven 64 oz Double Gulp
 (55 oz soda + 9 oz ice)
 Sugars, total: 186g
 Calories, total: 744
 Calories from sugar: 744

40% more caffeine than Coke, and 15% more sugar.
Mountain Dew
 20 oz (590 ml) Bottle
 Sugars, total: 77g
 Calories, total: 290
 Calories from sugar: 290
 1 L (34 oz) Bottle
 Sugars, total: 124g
 Calories, total: 440
 Calories from sugar: 440

About the same amount of sugar as soda.
Rockstar Energy Drink
 8 oz (240 ml) Serving
 Sugars, total: 31g
 Calories, total: 124
 Calories from sugar: 124
 16 oz (480 ml) Can
 Sugars, total: 62g
 Calories, total: 248

Americans are killing themselves with sugar

NaturalNews) Sugar and high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) are not just in soft drinks, pastries, and candies. They are hidden in most processed foods, condiments and sauces. Sometimes the sweetening ingredients in those foods and condiments are disguised as dextrose or corn syrup (which is most likely genetically modified) instead of sugar or HFCS.

So sugar is ubiquitous in the standard American diet (SAD). The food like substances from convenience stores, fast food stops, and even upscale restaurants are usually loaded with either sugar or HFCS.

High fructose corn syrup has become the sweetener of choice because it's cheaper and sweeter than sugar. Many say it's worse for you as well. Much of HFCS goes directly to the liver before it is metabolized anywhere else. What isn't used for energy from HFCS is stored as fat. Excess sugar also gets stored as fat.

Even some infant formulas contain sugar or HFCS amounts equivalent to a can of soda. They're getting hooked on sugar early. Sugar and HFCS tend to be addictive.

Since sugar became a household commodity in the 18th Century, sugar consumption has increased from four pounds per person annually to 180 pounds annually for half the American population. HFCS use has increased over ten thousand percent since its introduction into processed foods and beverages in the 1970s.

Health issues with sugar and HFCS

Obesity is obvious. Obesity levels are higher now than ever before. One-third of Americans are obese and another third are overweight. Eating a low fat diet only hurts your health. Our bodies need natural, good fats.

Obesity and overweight conditions usually lead to pre-diabetes and diabetes type 2, which can also cause kidney disease. If dietary habits remain the same, high blood pressure and artherosclerosis (clogged and hardened arteries) can occur, leading to heart attacks and strokes.

Coinciding with increased HFCS use is a sharp rise in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), which is a precursor to sclerosis of the liver.

Many tend to make a couple of bad mistakes upon realizing they need to cut down or completely eliminate sugar and high fructose corn syrup from their diet. The first is to use artificial sweeteners such as aspartame and Splenda (sucralose). That's just trading physical problems for neurological issues, while still getting fatter in the meantime.

However, you can use naturally plant based Stevia as a healthy sugar replacement.

Another mistake is to cut out obvious sweets and sodas while continuing to frequent fast food places and eat processed food meals at home. The gradual transition from the standard American diet should be toward cutting out processed and fast food meals completely, since most are laced with sugar or HFCS.

Studies are beginning to determine that consuming lots of sugar or HFCS leads to cancer. Anaerobic cancer cells do thrive on sugar. They depend on fermenting glucose (sugar) for their energy because they've lost the ability to metabolize with oxygen

That's why alternative cancer treatments strictly forbid sugar consumption. Of course, mainstream oncology does not even discourage sugar. It's widely understood that we all contain some free floating cancer cells that have not developed into tumors.

Natural fructose in fruit is okay. But high added sugar/HFCS consumption will only encourage cancer cells and cause the other health issues mentioned in this article.

Hi, its another week so I'll talk about another isagenix product that is also part of the 5 pillars of health.
Its product B.  Its is a product I stand 100% behind because it helped me support my underactive thyriod to the point where I now no longer need to take medication (over the counter drugs).

Since it is a very lengthy process to explain what Product b does I have added a couple of videos that explain what Product b does, and how it affects our health.

So Easter is over with, I did go see the flower display at the Palazo here in Vegas and was a bit disappointed. I was expecting better but evenzo It is always fun to walk around and people watch down on the strip. Afterwards we went to the "Peppermill" for a very unhealthy but ooooh sooo good breakfast. I eat more chocolate then I should have but am going on another 2 day cleanse tomorrow to stick to my original plan on being bikini ready at the end of the month.

And while I was truly enjoying my french toast I was trying to explain to my boyfriend that he also needed to cleanse/ alkalize his body by doing a cleanse... he just kinda looked at me funny and asked me what that was, which made me wonder how many times I have used that term and not explained why or what that is.

So here go's: Wikipedia says: alkalinity or At measures the ablility of a solution to neutralize acids to the equivalence point of carbonate or bicarbonate.
This is the scientific basic explanation. As you know, our bodies mirror the universe, so the human body in his constant work has to neutralize acids as well. Usually, the human body is slightly alkaline with a pH 7.36-7.44.

All foods are "burned" in the body--more commonly called "digested"-- leaving an ash as the result of the "burning", or the digestion. This food ash can be neutral, acid or alkaline, depending largely on the mineral composition of the foods.

When the body is acidic, essential nutrients tend to be depleted faster including potassium, magnesium, sodium and calcium. Harmful bacteria also breed faster in an acidic environment, producing infections and sickness, but cannot survive in an alkaline body. Some chronic conditions such as fatigue, anxiety, dry skin, back pain, depression, arthritis, gastritis, ulcers, cellular degeneration and osteoporosis are also linked with acidic diets.

What is an Acidic diet?
Lets take one of my typical Saturday's hanging out with my boyfriend going to the track or desert for a motorcycle ride.. we get up have either a big bowl of Acid cereal, or go out  to Timbers for a another Acid scrambled eggs, hash browns, toast, with acid juice breakfast. wash is down with Acid coffee and probably a Acid donut at the gas station before we head out of town. At lunch we usually have homemade sandwiches and water. However I will snack on Acid chips, cookies and such....

When we get home we bbq and usually have some fruit( finally some alkaline) but by now my body is trying to digest about 90% Acid product.  Which means I am tired, worn out, feel full, sluggish. You get the point. So think about what you eat for a few days, in terms of acid foods and how you feel afterwards.

Now on the upside of this, is that Alkaline food is mostly fresh raw food, so I usually try to eat as much fruit as I can  during the day, and as I already explained I cleanse to bring my body back into and "Alkaline" state. And to get even faster results, you can cleanse either a 2 day or 9 day with isagenix. and contact me if you have any questions on how to do this or for ordering just go to my website www.dianakautzman.isagenix.com.

Here is a list of some Alkaline foods:
cucumber, wheat grass, barley grass, broccoli sprouts, alfalfa sprouts, parsley, kale, sea vegetables, avocado, bell peppers, beets, broccoli, cabbage, celery, endive, collard, ginger, green beans, garlic, mustard greens, lettuce, onion, okra, tomato, spinach. Some nuts, seeds (sesame seeds) and oils are also good sources of alkalinity, particularly pumpkin seeds, almonds, further cold pressed oils like cod liver oil, evening primrose oil, coconut oil, flaxseed oil, fish oil.
